Stark Crusaders: Tactical Squad

It’s been a while since my last post. I’m finding it harder and harder to have something ready every two weeks to post regularly, which is what I had been trying. So I’m going to do something different. I’m going to post here every time I have a new unit that I’ve completed, whenever that might be. I’ll use my DakkaDakka blog to post progress shots as I go.

I’m also going to start putting a gallery section together here and I’ll add anything new to it as I go.

So, my tactical squad is finally finished. It’s taken ages to paint ten men. Maybe I should have done them in two batches of 5 like I did with the assault squad, but whatever, they’re done and here they are!

These are my special weapons guys. The wrists of the gun hands are pinned so the weapons can be swapped. It also means one can be given a bolter if they’re running as a single 10-man squad.

This is serge. Both wrists are pinned, so he can have a bolter or a combi-weapon in one hand, and a close combat weapon in the other. The latter seems unlikely, so all I’ve painted up for now is a knife. The combi-weapon is also pinned, so can be swapped out.

Next up is the other serge if they’re split into 5-man squads. His head is magnetised so he can go helmetless if a serge, or with a helmet otherwise. His gun hand is pinned to allow him to have a bolter or combi-weapon as serge, or bolter or special weapon otherwise.

I tried to make the barrel of the meltagun look scorched. I think it turned out okay.
